The Gospel According to the Ewoks.
For lo, the Empire hath fallen, and the Alliance victorious, yea, succored by cute teddy bear creatures.
In Which I Politely Disagree With an Anti-Vaccination Activist.
It started when I got this forwarded to my email. I’m constitutionally incapable of keeping my mouth shut in the face of bad arguments, so I emailed the forwarder and questioned his arguments. His response (edited down for clarity), and my response to his response, continue after the asterisks.
Mike,
I’ve read enough and reasoned enough about this to completely scrap vaccinations for my family.
(…) I don’t make this up. The information I pass on come to me via subscriptions to alternative health practioners (sic). They have their biases, to be sure (who doesn’t) but they sound more credible than the mainstream spin. If they are wrong, all the FDA has to do is shut them down and cancel their license. My guess is they don’t because they can’t.
You can believe that vaccines are a God-send and do your darndest best to convince the world to get their shots and that’s fine with me.
I can believe that vaccines are a scourge and try my darnedest best to convince people to stay away from it and that should be fine with you too, di ba?.
You sell your stuff and I’ll sell mine. Do we have a deal?

R____d,
For starters, I agree with you on a key point – it’s your right to refuse vaccination for your own children. Heck, it’s your right to tell everyone within earshot that vaccines are bad for kids.
It may be your right, but I believe nonetheless that it’s irresponsible. Let’s leave our kids out of this, and let’s focus on the message you’re trying to get out there: “vaccines can cause autism; don’t give your child shots.”
Doodle quest.
Finding the doodle’s heartbeat via Doppler is kind of like whaling - the doodle keeps hiding behind his/her mother’s heartbeat, so it takes a while for our OB-Gyn to get a bead on where he/she’s hiding and flush him/her out.
Thar he/she blows….
Hey Ben Stein, My List is Longer than Yours.
The majority of [Expelled] focuses on the ongoing fight for academic freedom by supporters of Intelligent Design. Stein interviews Guillermo Gonzalez, a supporter of ID and an astronomy professor at Iowa State University who was denied tenure, as well as Caroline Crocker, a biology teacher at George Mason University who was forced out because she questioned Darwinian evolution and introduced Intelligent Design in the classroom. Stein also speaks with Richard Sternberg, a biologist who was ridiculed and harassed by his peers at the Smithsonian Institution – Florida Baptist Witness
Ben Stein isn’t exposing a conspiracy, he’s part of it!
What follows is a list of people who were relentlessly persecuted for their belief in evolution. These are just a few of the many victims of the Christian Creationist/ID Establishment!

Yes, I tired of the name.
Let's face it - I thought of the name "Stepping on Poop" in about five minutes, and it stayed for four years. I know changing the name might crimp my incoming links - but I'm not losing anyone except the questionable rabble who got here by Googling "poop".
